Job Requirements

We are seeking a senior full-stack engineer to support a GSA modernization effort. This role will contribute to complex front-end and back-end development, integrate and extend an AI-enabled component within the platform, and support ongoing enhancements, defect resolution, and iterative feature development. The engineer will work across the stack to design secure, scalable, and maintainable software systems while collaborating closely with stakeholders, product managers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Your Responsibilities In This Role
  • Drive all phases of the development lifecycle—from task creation to production deployment.
  • Design and implement secure, reliable front-end and back-end software that meets modernization requirements.
  • Integrate and enhance an existing AI-enabled component within the system, supporting related automation and workflow features.
  • Address defects, performance issues, and production fixes, ensuring system stability.
  • Support the implementation of new AI-related features and future enhancements as part of the modernization roadmap.
  • Create and maintain testable and maintainable code, reducing technical debt and improving long-term sustainability.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technical strategies and architecture beyond the immediate scope of work.
  • Implement best practices in DevSecOps, including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and secure coding.
  • Troubleshoot application and infrastructure-level issues as needed.
  • Ensure solutions comply with federal security requirements (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP).

Work Experience
Project Specific Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years software engineering experience, including senior-level responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
  • Expert in web development (front-end + back-end), including APIs, client-server integrations, and data persistence.
  • Proficient with modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, NextJS, etc.).
  • Expert in at least one major back-end language (Node.js, Python, Go, Java, Ruby, etc.).
  • Experience in Spring Boot
  • Experience integrating with or extending AI- or automation-related systems (e.g., model outputs, ML APIs, text processing).
  • Proficient with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and translating designs into UI components.
  • Experience in database development. PostgreSQL preferred.
  • Good understanding of SQL and relational concepts.
  • Proficient with Git, including advanced commands (rebasing, squashing, cherry-picking).
  • Experience building software in containerized environments (Docker).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and microservice patterns.
  • Experience supporting test automation or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to discuss abstract development concepts (cohesion, immutability, design patterns).

The Salary Range For This Position Is

Minimum Salary: $114,884

Salary Midpoint: $149,299

Maximum Salary: $183,752

Hiring Range for Role: $114,884 - $143,000

  • This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance criteria.
