Pearson is expanding its OnVUE engineering team with opportunities for senior full-stack engineers. You will own complex work from design to delivery, influence architecture, mentor peers and help modernise the platform.

Two pathways exist: senior individual contributor and squad-leading delivery, with hands-on coding and team coordination across Java, Spring Boot, Angular and REST APIs. Location: United States (remote within the US).

Qualifications

• Five+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on full-stack capability across Java, Spring Boot, Angular and REST APIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Responsabilités

• Design and deliver complex, distributed full-stack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Angular and REST APIs.
• Build and operate highly available, scalable enterprise applications.
• Contribute to technical design, estimation, roadmap planning and platform modernisation.
• Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, reliability concerns and operational risk.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for critical production issues.
• Partner with Quality Engineering to strengthen testing, automation and quality by design.
• Support release planning, deployment, observability, security and operational readiness.
• Mentor engineers, review technical work and champion effective engineering practices.
• For the squad-lead pathway, coordinate day-to-day squad delivery, remove blockers and take responsibility for team outcomes.
