Pearson is expanding its OnVUE engineering capability in the United States, seeking senior full-stack engineers who can design, build and operate complex enterprise software. You will work on Java, Spring Boot, Angular and REST APIs, contributing to architecture, quality, and platform modernization.
Roles include senior individual contributor and squad lead, with hands-on development and delivery leadership as needed.
Pearson is expanding the engineering capability behind OnVUE. We are looking for experienced full-stack engineers who can design, build and operate complex enterprise software using Java, Spring Boot, Angular and REST APIs.
We have opportunities for strong senior individual contributors and for engineers ready to combine hands‑on development with squad leadership. You do not need to decide which pathway fits before applying. We will explore your experience and interests during the recruitment process.
You will own complex technical work from design through delivery and operational readiness. You will contribute to architecture and technical decisions, improve engineering quality, troubleshoot critical issues, mentor colleagues and help modernise the platform.
You will remain hands‑on while taking responsibility for the day‑to‑day technical delivery and results of a squad. You will guide engineers, coordinate work, remove obstacles, influence technical direction and work closely with business and functional leaders. This is technical and delivery leadership, not formal HR people management.
Experience with Azure, Kubernetes, cloud‑native delivery, DevOps and CI/CD would be valuable. Exposure to applications using audio and video, accessibility and WCAG, observability, application security, performance engineering, LLMs or AI‑assisted development tools would also be useful. These are differentiators rather than universal requirements.
United States. Remote within the United States. Any state restrictions or travel expectations will be shared during the recruitment process.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by factors including skill set, experience, location and the scope of responsibilities associated with the role selected through the hiring process. The full-time salary range for:
Senior Software Engineer: $120,000 - $130,000
Senior Software Engineer, Squad Lead: $135,000 - $145,000
This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here. Applications will be accepted through November 9th, 2026. This window may be extended depending on business needs.
This is an opportunity to develop engineering talent, strengthen delivery and quality practices, and help teams adopt emerging AI‑assisted ways of working across technology that supports assessment experiences at scale.
