Job summary

Clasp seeks a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Clasp Finance engineering team, shipping end-to-end features across loan origination, servicing, and analytics. You’ll own hard problems, build operational tooling, and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced fintech.

You will use AI-assisted development, work with Django/React on cloud-native infrastructure, and contribute to data pipelines while upholding rigorous regulatory requirements and high quality standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience; fluency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, and writing clean, maintainable code.
• Experience building operational/internal tooling for fintech, lending, or regulated domains.
• AI-native in workflow using coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude) as a multiplier.
• Familiarity with Django and React to build full-stack features and understand request lifecycle.
• Experience with cloud/serverless infrastructure (AWS Lambda, GCP Functions) and modern deployment practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication to explain technical decisions and write engaging docs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features across loan origination, servicing, and collections workflows.
• Build and maintain internal tooling to manage loans, programs, reports, and school/borrower needs.
• Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
• Apply AI-assisted development to scale impact and ship higher-quality software faster.
• Collaborate with compliance to implement regulatory requirements as engineering constraints.
• Develop data pipelines powering credit modeling and analytics.
• Engage with school/university stakeholders to understand integration needs and reliability.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and high standards.
