Job summary

Checkbook is seeking a senior full-stack engineer to design, build, and scale its payments platform from architecture through launch. You will own features end-to-end, collaborate with product and security teams, and deliver robust APIs for internal, partner, and customer systems.

You will work with Python, PostgreSQL, and modern frontend frameworks across the full stack, emphasizing secure, scalable code and automated quality tools in a remote-friendly engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and 5+ years of full stack experience.
• Strong Python, Postgres, and frontend framework skills with familiarity in Flask, FastAPI, and Django.
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to turn business requirements into effective software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale Checkbook's payments platform, owning projects from architecture through launch.
• Develop and architect web applications and robust APIs for internal, partner, and customer systems.
• Ensure application security and integrity, and optimize large database schemas, queries, and objects.
• Build automation tools and strategies to maintain quality and stability.
