Job summary

Checkbook, a fintech company in California, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and scale our payments platform. You will work on databases, backend services, APIs, and user interfaces using Python, Postgres, and modern frontend frameworks.

You'll own projects from architecture through launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams and focusing on security, performance, and scalable design for fintech workloads. Experience in fintech is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building robust web applications with Python and Postgres.
• Hands-on experience with frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js, Ember).
• Familiarity with Python web frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.

Responsibilities

• Develop and scale web applications across frontend and backend.
• Design and ship robust APIs, integrating with internal and partner systems.
• Ensure application security and data integrity.
• Design large DB schemas and optimize queries.
• Develop automation tools to improve quality and stability.
• Keep up with modern web technologies and best practices.
