Job summary

TechTree in San Francisco seeks an experienced backend engineer to design and ship full-stack features from the agent runtime to the web UI.

Join a 15-person team building AI software on a shared brain, ensuring system resilience at scale with real-time components and edge deployments.

US work authorization required; in-person role based in the Presidio, SF with relocation encouraged.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience building backend systems in production.
• Fluent in TypeScript and comfortable across the stack.
• Built real-time systems: WebSockets, SSE, event streaming, or message queues.
• Shipped infrastructure to real users, not just internal tooling.
• Willing to relocate to the Bay Area/San Francisco.

Responsibilities

• Write and ship full-stack features end to end, from backend APIs to the UI.
• Build sandbox infrastructure for agents execution and secure credentials.
• Design deployment pipelines (Cloudflare Workers + Fly.io) with blue-green and canary patterns.
• Instrument workloads with logging, tracing, monitoring, and incident response tooling.
• Collaborate with CTO and team to drive architectural decisions and scalability.
