Markup AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own product capabilities from the data model to the final interaction. This frontend-leaning full-stack role emphasizes React, TypeScript, Next.js, and a Chrome extension integration with Google Docs and Word Online.

You'll design data models, endpoints, and migrations, evolve the shared design system, and build interfaces for asynchronous and LLM-powered workflows with robust testing and accessibility baked in.

Qualifications

• Six+ years in professional software development with React/TypeScript.
• Strong TypeScript habits and clear API design.
• Experience building enterprise software with multi-tenancy and permissions.

Responsibilities

• Lead substantial product features from discovery and design through implementation, rollout, instrumentation, and iteration.
• Build complex, responsive product experiences with React, TypeScript, Next.js, and TanStack Query.
• Design the endpoints, data models, queries, and migrations that support those experiences.
• Evolve the Chrome extension and document integrations across Google Docs and Word Online.
• Improve our shared design system with accessibility, keyboard behavior, and focus management as requirements.
• Build interfaces for asynchronous and LLM-powered workflows, including streaming results and retries.
• Maintain strong automated coverage with Vitest, Testing Library, and Playwright, including end-to-end tests.
• Use instrumentation to diagnose production behavior and issues from upstream apps.
