Job summary

Markup AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own product capabilities from data models to user interactions. This frontend-leaning full-stack role emphasizes React, TypeScript, Next.js, and a Chrome extension integration with Google Docs and Word Online.

You will work on authentication, permissions, reporting, and onboarding within our design system, ensuring accessibility and robust testing across the stack.

Qualifications

• Deep experience building production apps with React and TypeScript.
• Strong TypeScript habits and clear API design thinking.
• Experience with client data layers, caching, and failure recovery.

Responsibilities

• Lead substantial product features from discovery through implementation and rollout.
• Build complex, responsive experiences with React, TypeScript, Next.js, and TanStack Query.
• Design endpoints, data models, queries, and migrations to support experiences.
• Evolve Chrome extension and integrations with Google Docs and Word Online.
• Improve the shared design system with accessibility and keyboard focus as requirements.
• Create interfaces for asynchronous and LLM-powered workflows with streaming results and retries.
• Maintain automated coverage with Vitest, Testing Library, and Playwright.
