Job summary

Peregrine Advisors LLC is seeking a senior software engineer to design and deliver cloud-native Python services and a React frontend. You will own data flows, APIs, and automated workflows on AWS, while mentoring a team of developers and driving quality practices.

This hybrid role is based in the Washington, DC area, with flexibility by assignment. The initial engagement requires U.S. citizenship and a Public Trust determination.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Python backend development.
• 5+ years of React.js frontend development.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native AWS services (RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda).
• Strong database background: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
• NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or MongoDB.
• Experience directing Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban) and Jira.
• Proven track record directing and mentoring developer teams.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tools (GitHub Copilot, AWS tools).
• Excellent communication with technical teams, business stakeholders, and executives.

Responsibilities

• Design Python services and components for delivery.
• Design the React frontend for user workflows and set coding standards.
• Define data flows, integrations, and APIs connecting services.
• Leverage AWS services to create automated workflows and pipelines.
• Lead code reviews, ensure security practices, and drive test-driven development.
• Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and help resolve production issues.
• Estimate projects, forecast delivery, and allocate resources.
• Drive AI-assisted tooling adoption while owning the code shipped.
