Job summary

FBS is seeking a full stack engineer to build and improve customer-facing software across Rails backend, React frontend, and data integrations. The role emphasizes reliable features, AI-driven user experiences, and collaboration with QA, product, and design.

The ideal candidate has 5-8 years in software engineering, strong Rails production experience, and a track record with APIs, data transformation, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Rails production experience.
• Experience with APIs and data transformation.
• Frontend experience with modern JavaScript (React).
• Familiarity with CI/CD and containerization (Docker).
• Experience with relational data modeling and data flow across systems.
• Experience on customer-facing AI features or products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and web applications using Ruby on Rails.
• Develop customer-facing frontend experiences using modern JavaScript frameworks, ideally React.
• Design, implement, and support integrations with internal platforms, external APIs, and data services.
• Translate product and technical requirements into well-scoped, testable changes.
• Own features across the stack, from data modeling through UI behavior and production support.
• Write clear, maintainable code with appropriate automated test coverage.
• Troubleshoot bugs, production issues, data inconsistencies, and integration failures.
• Participate in technical planning, estimation, code review, and iterative delivery practices.
• Work closely with QA, product, and design to improve usability, reliability, and release readiness.
• Help document systems, implementation decisions, edge cases, and operational considerations.
