Job summary

Peregrine Advisors LLC, based in the Washington, DC area, is seeking a senior software engineer to design and deliver cloud-native Python services on AWS. You will own backend and frontend work, lead design reviews, and mentor other developers in a hybrid, client-facing setting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional back-end Python development experience.
• 5+ years of front-end React.js development experience.
• Strong cloud-native experience on AWS including Lambda, S3, SQS, and RDS.
• Relational databases knowledge: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or DynamoDB.
• Advanced understanding of distributed systems and software architecture.
• Experience leading Agile delivery and mentoring teams.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted developer tools such as GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Design Python services and API components for platform modules.
• Build automated workflows on AWS services and integrate data flows.
• Lead API design, integrations, and data connectivity across platforms.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and automated tests for production readiness.
• Lead code reviews, resolve design tradeoffs, and mentor peers.
• Apply AI-assisted tools to accelerate implementation and reviews.
