Job summary

Culmen International is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to support secure, mission-ready software development for USPACOM J32 targeting and mission-planning workflows. Must be located in the NCR and able to commute onsite to the Mark Center.

You will design, develop, and field software that supports targeting and mission-planning operations, building user-facing and backend services, and integrating with government systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
• Experience with front-end frameworks, backend services, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, databases, and automated testing.
• Experience building workflow, mission-planning, decision-support, or operational intelligence applications.
• Ability to translate complex operational processes into usable software.
• Experience with data provenance, audit logging, access controls, and versioning.
• Familiarity with containerized deployments, CI/CD, IaC, observability, and secure environments.
• Strong collaboration with operators and SMEs, delivering incrementally.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and field secure software for USPACOM J32 workflows.
• Develop operator-facing applications for Target-Effect Pairing (TEP) with ranked recommendations.
• Build backend services for workflow orchestration, review, and force assignment support.
• Translate SME input into mission-planning workflows for analysis and decision support.
• Implement human-machine controls preserving government authority over decisions.
• Create auditable software recording data, versions, actions, and rationale.
• Integrate with MSS and government interfaces via secure APIs.
• Build interfaces that communicate constraints, timing, and next steps clearly.
• Develop resilient services for single-target and constrained-resource planning.
• Implement RBAC and secure data handling across services.
• Create tests for government acceptance and evaluation.
