Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of large-scale projects at a Memphis location. You will drive architecture decisions, ensure security and performance, and mentor a growing team across front-end and back-end stacks.

The role requires strong programming skills, hands-on coding in multiple languages, and collaboration with product and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering or IS with related experience
• At least 5 years in IT or engineering
• Expert knowledge of front-end and back-end frameworks
• Deep understanding of software architecture and design patterns
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Strong programming skills and multi-language coding ability
• Proven coding skills in multiple languages
• Analytical, problem solving, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Good presentation skills and ability to handle multiple projects
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Designs software code using multiple programming languages
• Architects and develops scalable, secure, high-performance software
• Tests newly developed code
• Documents code per company processes
• Communicates effectively with colleagues, managers, vendors, and stakeholders
• Leads code reviews and enforces coding standards
• Mentors junior and mid-level developers
• Evaluates and integrates new technologies and tools
• Complies with laws/regulations and company policies
• Performs other duties as assigned
