Job summary

General Motors is seeking a senior engineer to design, build, and safeguard the quality of applications across the PVSQ organization. You will work on Java microservices, a Next.js/React portal, and Databricks lakehouse, with emphasis on reliability, security, and scalable design.

You will mentor peers, review code, and ensure alignment with patterns and standards while collaborating with architects and data scientists to meet business and regulatory needs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and shipping production software.
• Experience with Java/JVM (Quarkus or Spring Boot).
• Full-stack capability from UI to data layer; ownership of end-to-end design.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain back-end microservices (Java).
• Build front-end features in Next.js/React with TypeScript.
• Develop Databricks data workflows feeding regulatory reporting and dashboards.
• Evolve relational schemas with Liquibase migrations.
• Write and review tests (JUnit/TestNG, Selenium).
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Translate requirements into executable development work with stakeholders.
