Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own end-to-end full-stack systems. You’ll architect across a React/NextJS frontend and a Go backend, guide technical direction, and mentor teammates to raise quality and reliability.

You will design data visualizations, extend a shared component library, and collaborate with product, UX, and partner engineering teams to deliver compelling experiences. This hybrid role requires multiple location flexibility and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE or related field with four years of experience.
• 6+ years of experience with at least one programming language and knowledge of others.
• Hands-on experience building web apps with React/NextJS.
• Proficiency in version control, TDD, debugging and performance analysis.
• Ability to work independently and communicate across teams.
• Experience leveraging AI tools responsibly with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate full-stack features across NextJS frontend and Go backend.
• Develop rich data visualizations and dashboards translating statistics into insights.
• Extend a nascent shared component library with cohesive style and blocks.
• Collaborate with product, UX/design, and partner engineers to refine requirements.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and design discussions.
• Manage multiple deliverables and surface risks and blockers proactively.
• Operate effectively amid evolving priorities while delivering high quality.
