Job summary

Cayuse Holdings is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead development across front-end and back-end teams in a government contractor setting. You will gather requirements, design architectures, and implement full-stack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities include optimizing performance, maintaining code quality, and collaborating with government stakeholders. A Top Secret clearance is required, and on-site work in the Washington, DC area is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 8+ years of relevant professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with Java and JEE development.
• Proficient in JavaScript and Ajax.
• Hands-on expertise in Spring Boot and Spring Data JPA.
• Experience with Angular 14+.
• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL design and development.
• Proficiency with Tomcat and JBoss application servers.
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance required; background checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze specifications and requirements from system stakeholders.
• Develop and deploy enhancements to address user needs and improve application functionality.
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and document system issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Manage system upgrades, ensuring compatibility with latest tools, frameworks, and libraries.
• Participate in all stages of the project lifecycle: planning, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Design and implement solution architecture for new development, including full-stack applications.
• Develop and optimize front-end and back-end functionalities using Java and JavaScript frameworks.
• Enhance system performance by addressing bottlenecks in the architecture.
• Maintain code quality through unit and integration testing and code reviews.
• Collaborate with system owners, government stakeholders, and contractor teams to align with project goals.
• Ensure compliance with coding, security, and documentation best practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
