Job summary

Cadmus seeks a Senior Full Stack Java Developer to join an Agile team on a multi-year federal contract. You will build and maintain modern web apps using Java/Spring Boot and Angular, deliver RESTful services, and collaborate across developers, architects, testers, and stakeholders.

You will design scalable back-end and responsive front-end features, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to code quality, performance, and deployment. Eligibility for a U.S. security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of hands‑on Java/Spring development experience.
• 3+ years of Angular/AngularJS development experience.
• Experience working on Agile/Scrum development teams.
• Extensive experience with the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, MVC, Security, Data/JPA/Hibernate & REST).
• Strong front-end development experience with Angular/AngularJS.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
• Experience with SQL Server and relational databases.
• Experience with JSON and XML.
• Experience with Maven, including pom.xml, dependencies, plugins, and packaging/deployment.
• Git-based source control experience.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with unit tests and automated testing.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to obtain a FNS MBI Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the Agile software development lifecycle (backlog refinement, sprint planning, development, testing, deployment, retrospectives).
• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise apps using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Develop responsive web apps using Angular/AngularJS, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS.
• Design and implement RESTful services and APIs with Spring Boot.
• Integrate front-end with back-end services and databases.
• Follow established coding standards and patterns; ensure quality and maintainability.
• Work with SQL Server and develop efficient SQL queries and DB integrations.
• Troubleshoot production issues across environments.
• Contribute to code reviews and improve performance, security, reliability.
• Translate requirements into technical designs and tasks.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders.
• Develop unit and integration tests; support automated testing.
• Enhance legacy apps while incrementally adopting modern Spring/Angular tech.
• Participate in deployment and production support.
• Mentor junior developers through reviews and guidance.
• Create documentation and diagrams to support deployment and knowledge transfer.
• Identify and implement performance and reliability improvements.
