Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer in a hybrid role in the San Jose/San Francisco area. You will solve complex problems across Cisco and Splunk collaborations to build a global-scale security and observability platform.

Strong skills in Python/Java/Golang, React/BackboneJS, HTML5/CSS3 and secure API design are required. You will own multiple features, mentor engineers, and help shape architecture while collaborating across teams to improve tooling and delivery in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on application development.
• Experience with Python, Java, or Golang.
• Experience with React and/or BackboneJS.
• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and/ or Responsive Design.
• Experience implementing data structures, algorithms, and RESTful APIs, including secure API design features such as authentication, input validation, and rate limiting.
• Experience developing scalable distributed web applications using open-source or proprietary technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD and security gates such as SAST, DAST, and dependency scanning.

Responsibilities

• Own and be accountable for delivery of multiple features to solve security challenges.
• Collaborate with Cisco and Splunk teams on project requirements, designs, and development plans.
• Help identify and develop ways to improve our team's productivity and efficiency by expanding tools and processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.
