Remitly in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for the High Value Send Experience. You will build systems that earn trust for high-value transfers, spanning web, mobile, and backend services.

Collaborate with product, design, analytics, and partner teams to translate goals into scalable solutions. The role requires 7+ years in software development, TypeScript/React, and backend experience, plus cloud and distributed systems know-how.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building customer-facing experiences at product scale with TypeScript, React, and native mobile development.
• Proficiency in backend languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and service-oriented or microservices architectures.
• Bonus: FinTech, payments, or other regulated industries experience.

Responsibilities

• Champion the customer experience by translating high-value sender needs into scalable systems.
• Lead technical design and architecture for complex distributed systems across web, mobile, and backend services.
• Ship reliable, observable systems that meet strict availability and latency SLOs.
• Mentor teammates and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product, design, analytics, and partner engineering teams to translate goals into scalable technical solutions.
