Job summary

Remitly, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for the High Value Send Experience team. You will build systems across web and mobile, collaborating with identity, trust, and money movement teams to earn customer trust on high-stakes transfers.

You’ll work with product and design to translate goals into scalable technical solutions for a global customer base, mentoring teammates and upholding best practices in coding, testing, and architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with end-to-end system building and operation.
• Experience building customer-facing experiences at product scale with TypeScript, React, and native mobile development (iOS/Android, React Native).
• Proficiency in backend languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python, with production-quality code delivery.
• Experience using AI tools in development workflows and drafting/validating concepts.
• Experience designing and building distributed, large-scale systems with SOA or microservices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and managed services.
• Bonus: FinTech, payments, or regulated industry exposure.

Responsibilities

• Champion the customer experience by translating signals into scalable systems.
• Lead technical design and architecture for complex High Value Send experiences.
• Ship reliable, observable, and scalable web, mobile, and backend services with strong NRT/SLO targets.
• Operate AI-native approaches to enhance development and product outcomes.
• Collaborate with product, design, analytics, and partner teams to translate goals into solutions.
• Mentor teammates and lead technical discussions, reviews, and best practices.
