Job summary

Vantor is seeking a seasoned software engineer for geospatial intelligence work in the Washington, DC metro area. The role requires U.S. citizenship and a current TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.

You will design scalable software across the full lifecycle, leveraging AWS/C2S cloud environments and containerized runtimes. You will lead small engineering teams, tackle complex data pipelines, and apply DevSecOps practices to deliver mission-critical solutions.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required and active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one multiparadigm language (Python, Java, Go, or Rust).
• Experience extracting, transforming, visualizing and analyzing large datasets.
• Experience designing and supporting cloud architectures (AWS and C2S).
• Experience building and maintaining cloud-based applications.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud or hybrid settings.
• Strong Linux proficiency and ability to lead small engineering teams.
• Familiarity with modern development tooling, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Preferred: AI-native software for geospatial data; NoSQL stores like Elasticsearch or MongoDB; geospatial trajectory processing and AI/ML models.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable, mission-critical software solutions.
• Participate in full development lifecycle from planning to maintenance.
• Apply standards to produce high-quality, extensible software.
• Use cloud technologies to extract, transform, and visualize geospatial and temporal datasets.
• Develop analytics and derivative data products for meaningful insights.
• Troubleshoot proactively and collaborate with diverse teams of engineers, clients, and end users.
