AppFolio is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Mixed Portfolio Foundation team. You will own foundational data models across multiple property types, drive architectural direction, and deliver scalable SaaS features for Housing segments. Collaboration with product, QA, and design is essential.

The role emphasizes mentoring, code reviews, and adopting best practices in an agile environment, with a base salary that reflects market value for this senior position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing web-based applications.
• Extensive experience designing complex data models that fit into business and compliance requirements.
• Experience developing web applications in a SaaS environment.
• Proven track record driving architectural improvements for scalability and performance.
• Experience across all levels of the development stack.
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, React, MySQL, AWS, SOA.

Responsibilities

• Build a deep understanding of mixed portfolio segments (affordable housing, student housing) and own foundations for these segments.
• Maintain ongoing business segments (Community Association, Commercial, NYC).
• Develop scalable, robust, web-based solutions, refactor and integrate with partners as needed.
• Mentor and guide other engineers, participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Implement new features, optimize performance, and ensure high-quality, test-driven delivery.
• Collaborate with QA, product owners, and designers in a high-performing team.
