Job summary

Sciemo is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to own major parts of our product, from customer-facing interfaces to APIs that connect to ML systems. You will ship features end to end, make architectural decisions, and set engineering standards as an early member of the team.

This senior role at an early-stage startup emphasizes building usable interfaces for AI outputs and reliable backend services, with a focus on Next.js, TypeScript, Python, and FastAPI.

Qualifications

• Proven track record shipping production web applications end to end, at senior level or above.
• Strong frontend fundamentals — modern JavaScript/TypeScript, component architecture, state management, and an eye for usable interfaces.
• Strong backend engineering skills, including API design and relational data modeling.
• Experience deploying and operating applications on cloud infrastructure with modern CI/CD.
• Comfort collaborating with ML systems and integrating with them.
• Experience in a startup or high-autonomy environment with ambiguity and rapid iteration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship customer-facing features end to end across the stack, using Next.js and a Python/FastAPI backend.
• Build interfaces that make AI output legible and actionable for business users.
• Partner with product and design to translate ambiguous problems into shipped software.
• Build and maintain APIs and services connecting UI to ML/GenAI/agent systems.
• Ensure production quality through testing, monitoring, and on-call participation.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction as the team grows.
