Job summary

Sciemo is hiring a Data Architect to own the data platform foundation for its AI products. You’ll define ingestion, storage, modeling, and serving layers, shaping architecture, governance, and data contracts across teams.

This senior, founding-level role requires hands-on design, build, and operation—working with ML and backend engineers to move fast while handling sensitive customer data responsibly.

Qualifications

• Significant experience designing and operating production data platforms at scale.
• Deep expertise in data modeling, including dimensional, normalized, and semantic layer design.
• Strong SQL and Python with production-grade engineering practices.
• Hands-on experience with modern warehouse/lakehouse platforms and orchestration tools.
• Experience supporting ML/AI workloads, including feature availability and retrieval patterns.
• Working knowledge of graph data models and when they beat relational approaches.

Responsibilities

• Design and own the data platform architecture end to end across cloud environments.
• Define data models, semantic layers, and data contracts between layers.
• Establish governance, security, retention, and privacy standards for customer data.
• Lead and mentor engineers; translate product requirements into architectural decisions.
