Sciemo is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to own major parts of our product, from customer-facing interfaces to APIs that connect to ML systems. You will ship features end to end, make architectural decisions, and set engineering standards as an early member of the team.

Qualifications

• Proven track record shipping production web applications end to end, at senior level or above.
• Strong frontend fundamentals — modern JavaScript/TypeScript, component architecture, state management, and an eye for usable interfaces.
• Strong backend engineering skills, including API design and relational data modeling.
• Experience deploying and operating applications on cloud infrastructure with modern CI/CD.
• Comfort collaborating with ML systems and integrating with them.
• Experience in a startup or high-autonomy environment with ambiguity and rapid iteration.

OVERVIEW

We are an industry-leading startup developing AI for consumer brands. Our solutions leverage machine learning, generative AI, agent-based systems, and graph technologies to get our customers to insights in seconds and to business impact in minutes using our products.

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer to build the product surface our customers actually touch, reporting to our Head of Engineering.

ROLE

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will build and own major parts of our product — from the interfaces where customers explore insights and act on them, through the APIs and services that connect those interfaces to our AI systems.

This is a senior role at an early-stage company. You'll ship features end to end, make architectural decisions about how the application layer is structured, and set the engineering standards that the rest of the team will inherit. The problems are interesting on both ends: presenting complex model and agent output in a way that's genuinely usable, and building backend services fast and reliable enough to sit in front of live ML systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Engineering

• Design, build, and ship customer-facing features end to end across the stack, working with Next.js and typescript on the front end and a Python/FastAPI backend.


• Build interfaces that make complex AI output — forecasts, recommendations, agent reasoning — legible and actionable for business users.


• Partner with product and design to turn ambiguous problems into shipped software.

Backend & Integration

• Build and maintain APIs and services that connect the application layer to our ML, GenAI, and agent systems.


• Design data access patterns against multiple data stores with an eye to performance and correctness.


• Handle the realities of AI-backed products: streaming responses, long-running jobs, partial results, and graceful failure.

Quality & Reliability

• Own your work in production — testing, monitoring, alerting, and on‑call participation.


• Build and improve CI/CD and deployment practices for both public


• Set and uphold code quality standards as one of the earliest product engineers.

Team & Craft

• Contribute to technical direction for the application layer and mentor engineers as the team grows.


• Work directly with customer‑facing teams to close the loop between what we ship and what customers need.

ALL ABOUT YOU

• Proven track record shipping production web applications end to end, at senior level or above.


• Strong frontend fundamentals — modern JavaScript/TypeScript, component architecture, state management, and an eye for usable interfaces.


• Strong backend engineering skills, including API design, relational data modeling, and writing production‑grade code.


• Experience deploying and operating applications on cloud infrastructure with modern CI/CD.


• Comfort working alongside ML systems — you don't need to build the models, but you should be at ease integrating with them.


• Experience in a startup or other high‑autonomy environment; comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration.


• Strong problem‑solving skills, adaptability, and a "hacker" mentality.


• Excellent communication skills — able to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

LOCATION

Hybrid role based in New York City; open to remote U.S. candidates willing to travel monthly to our NYC office.
