Job summary

Clasp is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer for the Lending team (Clasp Finance). This remote role focuses on building a resilient, compliant lending workbench, from origination through servicing, with AI-assisted development to move faster.

You will own end-to-end features in Python, TypeScript, Django and React, collaborate with compliance, data, and product teams, and contribute to an impact-focused culture at a Forbes Fintech 50 company.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Fluency in Python, TypeScript and/or JavaScript; write clean, maintainable code in both.
• Experience building operational/internal tooling for fintech or regulated domains.
• AI-native workflow using coding tools as a multiplier, not just autocomplete.
• Familiarity with Django and React; able to build full-stack features and understand requests.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features across the loan origination platform from intake to servicing and collections.
• Develop internal tooling to empower the Clasp Finance team to manage loans, run reports, and respond to school/ borrower needs.
• Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Apply AI-assisted development techniques to scale impact and ship higher-quality software.
• Collaborate with compliance and legal to implement regulatory requirements as engineering constraints.
• Develop data pipelines powering credit modeling, compliance reporting, and analytics.
• Engage with school/university stakeholders to understand integration needs and improve platform reliability.
• Contribute to a culture of learning, high standards, and constructive feedback.
