Talener is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Boston, MA to own and develop business-critical applications across the full stack. You will work with React, TypeScript, Python, and modern web frameworks to build tools supporting financial analysis and data-driven decisions.

You will influence architecture, improve development practices, and mentor engineers while staying hands-on with code. The role emphasizes performance, reliability, and collaboration with business teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong full stack background.
• Hands-on expertise with React and TypeScript.
• Python and experience with Django, FastAPI, or comparable frameworks.
• Experience developing and supporting production applications in a cloud environment.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
• Understanding of application architecture, REST APIs, caching, data storage, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern deployment practices.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code solutions such as Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance full stack applications using React, TypeScript, Python, and modern web frameworks.
• Build internal tools that support financial analysis, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
• Design and maintain backend services, APIs, and database integrations.
• Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and overall user experience.
• Make architectural recommendations and establish development standards
• Partner with business teams to understand operational challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, and continuous delivery.
