Job summary

Scribe, based in San Francisco, is seeking a senior engineer for the Adopt Engineering team to ship full-stack features from design to production at scale. You’ll own Python backend services and collaborate with product and design to decide what to build and how to measure success.

You’ll keep existing systems healthy as the product grows, set technical direction on projects, and mentor teammates through code reviews and design feedback.

Qualifications

• Shipped full-stack features end to end from problem definition through production.
• Strong backend code in Python and full-stack familiarity.
• Product-minded approach with ability to trade off scope and deliver value quickly.
• Experience mentoring teammates and raising engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Ship full-stack features end to end on new product surfaces, owning them from design through production and the metrics they move
• Build the Python backend services that power those features and keep them reliable at scale
• Make product calls alongside PM and design, deciding what to build and where to cut scope so the right thing ships quickly
• Keep existing systems healthy as the product grows, doing the maintenance and reliability work that protects team velocity
• Set technical direction on the projects you lead, from architecture decisions to how the work gets sequenced
• Raise the engineering bar around you through code review, design feedback, and the standards you hold
