Genius in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build, maintain, and enhance features across our platform. You will work across front-end and back-end development, collaborating with the team to design scalable solutions and deliver high-quality products.

You will also contribute to areas such as database design, system architecture, and overall platform performance, while participating in deployments and on-call rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production-grade web applications.
• Expertise in backend frameworks such as Ruby (preferred), or Python/Node.js/Django.
• Proven track record of scaling full-stack applications in high-traffic environments.
• Strong understanding of API design, database architecture, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, CI/CD, and thorough testing strategies.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as New Relic or Datadog.
• Excellent communication and a proactive ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineers to design and develop new features with real user impact.
• Write clean, scalable, and testable code that is production-ready.
• Mentor teams and contribute to architectural planning and code reviews across multiple teams.
• Own deployments to Staging and Production and participate in on-call rotation as needed.
• Drive long-term architectural improvements and establish internal best practices and docs.
• Champion engineering excellence, performance optimization, and stack-wide improvements.
• Collaborate with DevOps to ensure reliable performance and uptime.
• Onboard and mentor junior engineers with regular feedback and guidance.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve efficiency and product quality.
