Job summary

Genius is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build, maintain, and enhance features across our platform. This hands-on role spans front-end and back-end work, collaborating to design scalable solutions and improve existing systems.

You will contribute to database design, system architecture, and overall platform performance. Based in Los Angeles, this onsite role requires 3–4 days per week at our Beverly Hills office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production-grade web apps.
• Expertise in backend frameworks (Ruby preferred) or Python/Node.js/Django.
• Strong frontend skills with React; modern JavaScript proficiency.
• Experience in scaling full-stack apps in high-traffic environments.
• Solid API design, database architecture, data modeling, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with agile, CI/CD, and testing strategies.
• Experience with unit/integration testing and monitoring tools.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to design and develop new features.
• Write clean, scalable, and testable production-ready code.
• Mentor and contribute to architectural planning and code reviews.
• Own deployments to Staging and Production; participate in on-call rotation.
• Drive long-term architectural improvements and internal documentation standards.
• Promote engineering excellence, performance optimization, and best practices.
• Coordinate with DevOps for reliable performance and uptime.
• Onboard and mentor junior engineers with feedback and guidance.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve efficiency.
• Translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
