Job summary

Genius is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build, maintain, and enhance features across our platform. This is a hands-on role spanning front-end and back-end development, collaborating with the team to design scalable solutions, improve existing systems, and deliver high-quality products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production-grade web applications.
• Expertise in backend frameworks such as Ruby (preferred) or similar in Python/Node.js/Django.
• Solid frontend development skills with React or Rails and modern JavaScript practices.
• Proven track record scaling full-stack applications in high-traffic environments.
• Strong understanding of API design, database architecture, data modeling, and performance tuning.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and monitoring tools.
• Excellent communication skills with ownership mindset.
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to design and develop new features with real impact.
• Write clean, scalable, and testable code production-ready and maintainable.
• Mentor and participate in technical design discussions and code reviews across teams.
• Own deployments to staging and production, ensure quality and uptime, participate in on-call rotation.
• Drive architectural improvements and establish internal best practices and docs.
• Promote engineering excellence, performance optimization, and continuous improvement across the stack.
• Collaborate with DevOps to ensure reliable system performance and monitoring.
• Onboard and mentor junior engineers with regular feedback and guidance.
• Evaluate new technologies and frameworks to improve efficiency and product quality.
• Translate business needs into robust, scalable technical solutions.
