Job summary

Tolken is building a deeply technical platform for hybrid fiat/crypto finance. We seek a hands-on engineer who can own features from design to production, across backend and frontend, shipping high-quality, scalable code.

You will work directly with the founders and VP of Engineering to design APIs, craft data models, and implement reliable systems in a fast-paced startup environment. You will own the full lifecycle of features and help improve observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production-grade, high-throughput backends.
• Strong backend experience in Python (FastAPI preferred), Go, or Java.
• Strong frontend skills with React and data-dense interfaces.
• Deep database knowledge: Postgres and Redis preferred.
• Hands-on with cloud-native infra (GCP), containers, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end features across backend and frontend.
• Develop production-grade APIs, data models, and integrations for a high-throughput financial system.
• Own full feature lifecycle: design, test, deploy, and ensure production reliability.
• Collaborate with leadership to translate requirements into technical designs and delivery plans.
• Improve performance, scalability, and observability through profiling and monitoring.
• Contribute to engineering standards and code reviews in a fast-paced startup.
