Job summary

Echo Neurotechnologies, a San Francisco startup, seeks a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to architect and drive core applications powering our BCI product ecosystem. You will own end-to-end full-stack architectures, building desktop apps, cloud services, and interfaces streaming real-time neural data.

You will mentor engineers, define system interfaces, and translate clinical requirements into dependable medical software for commercial readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production software engineering experience in full-stack development.
• Expertise in Python and at least one other core language (Rust or TypeScript).
• Strong systems design, distributed data flows, and performance optimization.
• Proven track record as a technical lead or mentor to peers.
• Experience with automated testing and release pipelines in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain complex software across desktop, web, and cloud (Rust, Python, TypeScript).
• Design scalable architectures, robust APIs, secure data pipelines, and real-time data stores.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and architectural guidance.
• Collaborate with firmware, ML, clinical, and regulatory teams to integrate components.
• Promote engineering best practices: modular design, automated testing, CI/CD, maintainability.
• Lead the authoring of software design specs, risk analyses, and verification per IEC 62304.
