Job summary

MetLife is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, build, enhance, and support software applications for US Digital applications. You’ll work in a collaborative, agile environment delivering full stack solutions, API and integration development, cloud and DevOps practices, and AI-enabled tooling.

You will contribute to site reliability, observability, and automation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve system design and reliability.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience building and supporting full‑stack applications, APIs, integrations, batch processes, data flows, and customer‑facing digital platforms.
Proficiency in Java, Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages; strong software engineering practices including CI/CD, cloud platforms, DevOps, and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full stack software across UI, API, data, and integration layers.
Deliver high-quality, secure, scalable code with CI/CD and automated testing.
Analyze requirements and partner with product and platform teams to deliver enhancements.
Troubleshoot and resolve defects across applications, APIs, data, and integrations.
Apply site reliability engineering to improve availability, performance, observability, and automation.
Provide production support and root cause analysis for incidents.
