Job summary

Whip Media is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer in Santa Monica, CA. You’ll design, build, and maintain mission-critical web software for major film studios and networks, using Go for new services and Java/Spring for existing production systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of software design and development experience in Java.
• Experience with Spring and core Spring components (Boot, Security, Data, REST).
• Front-end experience with Vue/React or similar, with state management and async data loading.
• Experience with SQL data modeling (PostgreSQL) and query tuning at scale.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS).
• Experience with Python; event-driven architecture and messaging (Kafka, Kinesis, SNS/SQS).
• Hands-on AI tooling experience (agents/LLM APIs) and evaluating fit.

Responsibilities

• Design and write new APIs and data processing code in Java or Python.
• Build front-end features accompanying APIs for data-dense interfaces.
• Create data models to handle increasing data volume.
• Devise algorithms for data synchronization across distributed systems.
• Design and implement ETL processes with various data sources.
• Own features end-to-end: requirements, design, implementation, tests, deployment, support.
• Incorporate AI tooling into development workflow and establish best practices.
• Write technical requirements and design documents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new platforms and internal tools.
• Mentor other engineers through design and delivery.
