Motion Recruitment Partners LLC in Chicago is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build AI-powered products for behavioral healthcare. The role is primarily based in downtown Chicago with flexibility for in-person collaboration in River North.

You will join a very small engineering team, own features from concept to deployment, and work closely with founders on product direction while writing code at a hands-on, startup pace.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 60+ hours per week, including occasional weekends.
• Experience in early-stage startups or high-growth environments.
• Full-stack development experience.
• Strong proficiency with modern web technologies.
• Experience building customer-facing applications.
• Demonstrated ownership from concept to deployment.
• Ability to work with product and business stakeholders.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in fast-changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship AI-powered product features.
• Partner with founders to define product direction.
• Design scalable architecture and engineering solutions.
• Own features through the full development lifecycle.
• Contribute to infrastructure, deployment, and operations.
• Help establish engineering best practices as the team grows.
• Evaluate and implement emerging AI technologies where appropriate.
• Hands-on development 80%, leadership 5%, cross-functional collaboration 15%.
