Job summary

Toast is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build full‑stack features for the Accounting Integrations team. You’ll work with Java/Kotlin backend and React/TypeScript frontend, on AWS, collaborating with product, UX, QA, and the fintech partners to deliver reliable financial data sync and automation.

The role emphasizes designing end-to-end features, shipping high‑quality code, and leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate development while maintaining data correctness across interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 6 to 9 years of experience in software or full stack development.
• Strong backend experience in Java, with hands-on Kotlin experience or willingness to become productive quickly.
• Strong frontend experience with React and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party systems.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and implement features across the full stack with minimal guidance.
• Build and maintain backend services in Java and Kotlin to sync data with external platforms.
• Develop frontend features in React with TypeScript, focusing on usability and performance.
• Deploy and run services on AWS and monitor data accuracy.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA and partner teams to turn requirements into working software.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to root-cause analysis.
