Job summary

QofAI is seeking a capable full-stack engineer to own products end-to-end, from UI to services and data, in a remote-friendly setup. You'll shape how features work, balance trade-offs, and set the standards others follow.

You'll work across frontend, backend, and data layers as needed, mentor engineers, and partner with customers to ensure the work delivers measurable value.

For full-stack engineers, the draw is range: real product, real users, and thefreedom to own a feature from the first sketch to the moment it lands.

The role

You'll own product end-to-end — from the interface someone clicks to the services anddata behind it — and take features from idea to production. You'll think holisticallyabout the people on the other side of the screen, make the calls about how thingsshould work, and set the standard for how we build full-stack product.

• Own a meaningful surface of the product across the whole stack — UI, backend, andthe data underneath — and be the person who decides how it should work.
• Take a feature from a rough idea through design, implementation, and ship, withsound trade-offs at every layer.
• Go deep where it counts — dropping into the frontend, the backend, or the data layeras the problem demands rather than living in one of them.
• Set engineering standards and patterns for product work, and raise the bar throughreview and the example your code sets.
• Mentor engineers earlier in their careers and bring them along.
• Partner directly with the people closest to our customers, so what you build isgrounded in what actually creates value.

What we're looking for

We care about breadth and judgment far more than any particular technology. We'relooking for engineers with at least 5 years of experience who:

• Are true full-platform builders — comfortable owning a feature from UI to backend —with the judgment to go deep in whichever layer the problem lives.
• Have led the delivery of complex, user-facing product across the full stack, fromidea to production.
• Thrive in ambiguity: you can take an under-specified problem and drive it to aclear, shipped outcome without waiting to be told how.
• Have strong product instincts — you care that what you ship is usable and robust,not just technically correct.
• Make the engineers around you better and communicate clearly with the non-engineerswho depend on what you build.

Nice to have

• A specialty in either frontend or backend — being T-shaped is alwayswelcome; broad across the stack with real depth in one layer.
• Node and Python across the stack — the languages most of our product is built in.
• Postgres, plus comfort with AWS and containers.
• Neo4j or graph-database awareness — a plus, given how much of what we build isgraph-shaped.
• Experience building product from 0 to 1 in an early-stage environment.
• A background in data-intensive or AI-driven products.
• Time spent close to customers or operators, where getting it wrong had a real cost.
