Job summary

QofAI is hiring a senior infrastructure engineer to own the platform that powers the team. You will lead cloud infra, deployment paths, observability, and security, enabling engineers to ship faster and more reliably.

You’ll build internal tooling and platforms that reduce friction, while owning cross-cutting infra problems from end to end. Remote role with multiple US HQs and national coverage.

Qualifications

The role

You’ll own the infrastructure and developer platform that everyone else builds on: the cloud foundations, the deployment paths, the observability, the security, and the tooling that decide how quickly and safely the rest of the team can move. Your work is multiplicative — when you make the platform better, every engineer ships faster and breaks less.

• Shape our cloud infrastructure (we run primarily on AWS) and the systems that keepit reliable, secure, and cost-aware as we grow.
• Build the CI/CD and deployment paths that let engineers go from commit to productionwith confidence rather than ceremony.
• Stand up the observability that makes problems visible early — so we find issuesbefore our clients do.
• Treat security as a first-class property of the platform, not an afterthought boltedon at the end.
• Build internal tooling and developer platform that removes friction and makes theright thing the easy thing.
• Own ambiguous, cross-cutting infrastructure problems end-to-end, and set thepatterns other engineers follow.

What we're looking for

We care about depth and judgment far more than a checklist of tools — the bar is how deeply you understand systems, not how many logos you can list. We’re looking for engineers with at least 5 years of experience who:

• Have deep expertise in cloud infrastructure and distributed systems, and have builtplatforms that other engineers relied on.
• Understand CI/CD, observability, and security as core craft — not boxes to check.
• Have strong systems and networking fundamentals, and the judgment to know whichreliability investments actually pay off.
• Think like a force multiplier: you measure your impact by how much faster and saferyou make everyone else.
• Can take an ambiguous, cross-cutting infrastructure problem and drive it to ashipped outcome on your own.
• Make the engineers around you better through the tooling, standards, and example youset.

Nice to have

• Hands‑on AWS, containers/Docker, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Comfort in Python and/or Go — the languages most of our tooling and services arewritten in.
• A reliability and security mindset — you design for failure and treat security as aproperty of the platform, not a bolt-on.
• Experience running production infrastructure on AWS at meaningful scale.
• A track record building developer tooling or platforms that teams genuinely lovedto use.
