American Airlines is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Information Technology team in Phoenix. You will collaborate with leaders, analysts, and developers to translate requirements into scalable solutions, and you will maintain and evolve services using domain-driven and test-driven development.

The role emphasizes design, coding standards, and security, with opportunities to explore new technologies and contribute to enterprise growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, CS/Engineering, CIS/MIS, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3 years SDLC experience with large-scale applications in hosted production environments.
• 3 years of professional, design and open-source experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop needs according to business requirements.
• Maintains and enhances existing services, applications, and platforms using domain driven design and test-driven development.
• Troubleshoots and debugs complex issues; identifies and implements solutions.
• Creates detailed project specifications, requirements, and estimates.
• Researches and implements new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance.
• Supports the development of coding standards and adheres to best practices and security guidelines.
• Works closely with software architects and technical leaders to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise growth needs.
