Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of large-scale production systems.
• Experience designing and evolving, and supporting complex distributed systems with long-term ownership.
• Proven ability to influence technical direction across teams and resolve architectural trade-offs.
• Experience with systems handling sensitive or regulated data (e.g., law enforcement, identity, finance, healthcare) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the technical architecture across front-end and back-end systems for scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Serve as a technical authority for complex design, performance, security, and integration challenges.
• Lead cross-team architectural design reviews and align engineering standards and patterns across teams.
• Make, document, and communicate high-impact technical decisions balancing short-term delivery with long-term health.
• Partner with product management, security, infrastructure, and compliance to shape technical roadmaps and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote engineering excellence through guidance and code reviews.
• Drive secure, resilient systems handling biometric and identity data with auditability and data protection.
