Job summary

MaintainX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of large, ambiguous projects from planning through production. You will partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering leadership to shape your team’s roadmap and influence adjacent teams.

You will own the long-term technical health of a domain, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalable architecture while mentoring engineers and setting robust coding standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience building full-stack web or mobile products.
• Deep hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Experience designing systems that hold up at scale and know when not to build.
• Experience with mobile-first, responsive, iterative development.
• A track record of writing maintainable, testable code you’re comfortable handing off.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of large, ambiguous projects end to end, from planning through production.
• Partner directly with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering leadership to shape your team’s roadmap and influence adjacent teams.
• Own the long-term technical health of a domain: reliability, performance, and the parts of the codebase nobody notices until they break.
• Drive architecture decisions and write the technical proposals others build against.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers, and set the standard for code review on your team.
• Raise the bar on tooling, testing, and delivery practices across teams, not just your own.
• Within your first 6 months, own the technical direction of a domain or system outright.
