Job summary

Benchmark Analytics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to take full-stack ownership of a defined product surface within our platform. You’ll work as a trio with a Product Owner and a second engineer, using AI-augmented workflows to deliver at a pace that once required larger teams.

You will own the technical architecture, code quality, and production health for your surface, while mentoring the engineer you’re paired with and collaborating with enterprise teams on secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong production experience with Node.js, React, PostgreSQL and HTML/CSS.
• Production experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and operational practices.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development workflows.
• Sound architectural judgment across data models, API design and system design.
• Experience in agile/continuous-delivery environments as a senior IC.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to write code, comments, and documentation.
• Demonstrated mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and quality of a defined product surface.
• Partner with Product Owner as a trio to determine feasibility and tradeoffs.
• Build software using AI-augmented workflows and AI tools to draft, review, refactor, test, and document code.
• Make architectural decisions and defend them across data models, API design, and system tradeoffs; document reasoning.
• Mentor and develop the engineer paired with you through code reviews and guidance.
• Maintain production responsibility for your surface including monitoring and incident response.
• Contribute to platform-wide engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
• Support enterprise sales and customer conversations with technical depth.
• Write correct, secure, maintainable, tested code; AI accelerates you but you own the work.
