Amazon Inc. in California’s Vacaville area is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to oversee a large Fulfillment Center, leading a mix of salaried and hourly staff.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, budget ownership, and leadership development to drive safety, productivity, and customer experience. The position involves managing a team through complex, fast-paced operations and collaborating with HR, Finance, Safety, IT, and maintenance to secure resources for initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Direct management experience in manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies.
• Experience with staffing lifecycle including interviewing, hiring, and promotions.

Responsibilities

• Owns and delivers the operational budget for the functional area including safety and productivity.
• Conducts long-term planning (3, 6, 12 months) for labor, forecasting, and peak seasons.
• Leads continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and productivity.
• Networks with leaders to share process improvements and drive efficiencies.
• Sets objectives and metrics for safety, quality, productivity and customer experience.
• Defines goals for managers; measures performance and provides feedback.
• Mentors and develops leaders and staff and participates in recruiting.
• Collaborates with HR, Finance, Maintenance Engineering, Safety, IT and others.
