Job summary

Chugach Electric Association seeks a senior Fuel Operations leader to manage fuel supply, dispatch, and associated economic terms for generation facilities. You will oversee forecasting, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration with energy resources and operations teams.

The role requires strong analytical skills, reliability in emergencies, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in fuel processes and economics. Anchorage-based with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• Five years of progressive experience including supervisory in gas/utility operations.
• Experience in utility or union environments preferred.
• Additional professional experience may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate fuel requirements with dispatchers, suppliers, pipelines, and storage operators.
• Manage programs and reporting for renewable energy resources including hydro and wind.
• Oversee fuel nomination, scheduling, and balancing across pipelines and storage systems.
• Manage terms of gas supply, transportation, storage, and transactions.
• Develop and maintain production cost models, fuel forecasting, and annual budgets.
• Implement procedures to reconcile gas and energy transactions, including Power Pool.
• Review SCADA data and adjust intraday scheduling as needed.
• Plan staffing, training, and performance reviews for the division.
• Lead storm restoration and emergency response efforts when required.
