Job summary

The North Slope Borough seeks a seasoned manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of its Fuel & Natural Gas systems, ensuring reliable, safe, and cost-effective energy services for the community.

Responsibilities include directing maintenance, enforcing safety policies, budgeting, compliance with federal and state laws, and coordinating with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders to sustain service reliability and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or six years of related Arctic experience.
• Valid Alaska Driver's License; COL within six months.
• IS-100/200/300/400/700/800 within 2 years.
• CPR, AED and First Aid within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and oversee operational, maintenance, and safety activities.
• Develop and enforce policies for safe handling, storage, and distribution of fuel and natural gas.
• Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and reporting.
• Oversee contracts, purchases, and service delivery.
