Job summary

Optimum is hiring a Maintenance Tech III to repair and maintain fiber and coax networks from headend to customer devices. You’ll support headend electronics, perform fault isolation, and mentor junior technicians to ensure service reliability.

The role requires working knowledge of FTTH/RFOG architectures, FCC testing, and coordination with cross-functional teams. A valid driver’s license and DOT qualifications are required, with opportunities to lead training and process improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with DOT qualifications.
• Proof of any state licenses required for installation/maintenance.
• Knowledge of FTTH/RFOG networks and related testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair transport, trunk, and distribution networks from headend to customer devices.
• Maintain a unity gain network and conduct FCC-required tests.
• Perform duties of Maintenance Tech I/II as needed.
• Coordinate with Design, Construction, ISP, and NOC/ROC to resolve issues.
• Lead training initiatives and mentor team members.
