Job summary

Orenco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Composite Design Engineer to lead the design of FRP composite products for infrastructure applications. The role focuses on closed-mold processes like RTM and vacuum infusion, with emphasis on structural engineering and code compliance.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support product testing, and travel as needed to project sites and industry events, while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in composite product design; 10+ years preferred.
• Expertise in closed-mold composite processes.
• Strong structural engineering with composite materials knowledge.
• Familiarity with infrastructure codes and standards.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
• PE license is beneficial but not required.
• Ability to work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of FRP products for infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the Composite Sales Manager to tailor design solutions.
• Drive value engineering to reduce design and production costs.
• Oversee manufacturing processes, especially closed molding techniques.
• Interface with customers and certification agencies as needed.
• Support cross-functional teams including QA/QC and PM.
• Perform structural analysis and guide product testing.
