Job summary

Flock is seeking a senior frontend technical leader to own the architecture and delivery of core Search features built on a React, TypeScript, and Node stack. You will partner with product, design, and backend teams to turn user research into performant experiences.

You will craft complex map-based visualizations and drive frontend standards while mentoring peers and improving performance for high-traffic applications.

Qualifications

• Mastery of modern frontend web technologies with React and TypeScript.
• Experience building map-based data visualizations with mapping libraries.
• Fullstack context with Node.js and modern API design (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
• Understanding backend microservice patterns and PostgreSQL.
• Strong problem-solving in ambiguous environments and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontend architecture and execution for core Search features in React/TS/Node stack.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend peers to translate requirements into performant UX.
• Build complex map-based visualizations for high-density location data.
• Set frontend engineering standards, conduct thorough code reviews, and mentor peers.
• Monitor and optimize client-side performance, state management, and data retrieval for high-traffic apps.
